About Cuac
The youth of the makers of CUAC was spent among olive trees, sunshine, and the mountains of the Sierras de Cazorla. A spring at the top of the highest mountain in the area, the Yelmo, filled the lake where ducks lived with water. This is where the inspiration for the name of their farm and their Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from: CUAC.
CUAC AOVE reflects childhood memories and a passion for an age-old craft. The rubber duck, a symbol of youthful sentiment, returns in the form of CUAC Extra Virgin Olive Oil: a unique oil with a personal story.
Where does Cuac come from? The olive groves in the mountains: the treasure of Sierra de Cazorla
The olive groves in mountainous areas of Sierra de Cazorla are more labor-intensive to cultivate and harvest and yield less than those on large estates. However, the compact fruits produce an extra virgin olive oil that is among the most highly valued in the world in tastings.
Cuac's olive trees, which are over 50 years old, are located in the heart of the Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas National Park, in the province of Jaén.
This province has the highest concentration of olive groves in the world and is renowned for the exceptional quality of its olive oil.
What makes this olive oil particularly high quality?
Cuac is produced according to the strict quality controls of the D.O. Sierra de Cazorla, one of the most prestigious regions in the world for olive oil production.
In the production of Cuac, night harvesting and processing within less than 8 hours are combined with a first pressing. This gives Cuac's extra virgin olive oils unique organoleptic and antioxidant properties, allowing the innovative appearance of the packaging to recede into the background and quality to prevail.
About the Royal olive
Royal olive oil is made from the rare Royal olive, an authentic olive variety from the Sierra de Cazorla in the province of Jaén. The Royal is a local variety that occupies only a small part of the olive groves in this region. This makes olive oil from this variety special and much less commonly available than, for example, Picual olive oil.
Royal olive oil is known for its elegant and distinctly fruity character. Depending on the harvest, aromas of tomato plant, green almond, green banana, artichoke, apple, mint, and fresh grass may emerge. The taste is generally softer than that of Picual, with a subtle bitterness and a light, pleasant spiciness that develops gradually. This makes Royal extra virgin olive oil particularly suitable for bread, salads, cheese, fish dishes, and other cold preparations where the refined aromas can truly shine.
