About the Arbequina olive

The Arbequina is a well-known Spanish olive variety primarily found in Catalonia and Aragon. Arbequina olive oil is known for its soft, accessible, and fruity character, with aromas reminiscent of apple, banana, and almond. The bitterness and spiciness are usually milder than in more robust olive varieties like Picual.

In Señoríos de Relleu olive oils, Arbequina is used as part of a coupage: a carefully composed combination of multiple olive varieties. Arbequina contributes to softness, fruitiness, and a rounded flavor, while the other olive varieties provide extra freshness, structure, and complexity. In the Medium Coupage, this creates a balanced combination of fruitiness, fresh green notes, and a pleasant bitterness and spiciness. Its versatile flavor profile pairs well with bread, salads, grilled vegetables, pasta, fish, and light meat dishes.
