Regulations for organic products

In the past period, Casa Gomez has taken an important step towards becoming a Skal registered webshop and in this way ensuring the quality of the organic chain.

Casa Gomez's supplier of the organic extra virgin olive oil, Olivar de Segura (Jaencoop Group), is certified organic by the bio-control authority in Spain.

This certification is not sufficient for webshops in the Netherlands as webshops in the Netherlands are obliged to register as a SKAL registered webshop. So that the desired Dutch standards and regulations are met.

This Skal registration is important for Casa Gomez because it guarantees everyone who buys organic extra virgin olive oil through Casa Gomez that the organic extra virgin olive oil is really 100% organic and can rely on the quality of the organic extra virgin olive oil .

Who is SKAL and what is organic?

A product is organic if it is certified according to the applicable regulations. Certification is only possible if the product (and the entire chain for it) is under control. Skal certifies all organic production in the Netherlands.

Skal is the control organization for independent control of organic products in the Netherlands. Skal is committed to the demonstrable reliability of organic products for consumers.

The Skal Foundation has been designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality as the only control organization in the Netherlands and ensures that the organic production, processing and trade of products comply with the organic EU regulation, the Dutch Agricultural Quality Act and the regulations and principles from Skal Biocontrol.

By visiting and checking companies annually, Skal monitors the entire Dutch organic chain. In this way, Skal provides a demonstrable and reliable organic European quality mark.
